Seeing our Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP) is a free service that aims to improve mental wellbeing. At the Hauora our HIP is an experienced registered health professional who works with people of all ages and their whānau.
Sessions are 30-60 minutes and focus on what is important to you.
There are no limits to how often you can see the HIP. She will work with you until you are making progress towards your goals. It may only take one session. You can come back and see her again anytime.
Our HIP may be able to help you with anything that causes you stress and anxiety. This may include:
• relationship stress
• alcohol or drug concerns
• neurodiversity
• gender / sexuality
• coping with a new diagnosis
• major life changes
• managing persistent pain
• sleep difficulties
• eating behaviours.
• parenting difficulties
• Triple P Sessions, both court ordered and voluntary
Anyone of any age enrolled with the Ngāti Kahu Hauora can access the Health Improvement Practitioner, via Self-referral or GP/Nurse referral.

Health Coach
Working alongside a health coach is a free and flexible service, whether you visit me at the Hauora, or I come to your home/work or community space.
I work alongside you and your GP to holistically support you in areas such as stress and anxiety relief, sleep hygiene, lifestyle and nutritional changes, setting and reaching goals, navigating services or supporting you with attending appointments. If you just need someone to chat with, I’m always happy to listen. The service is as short or long as you would like. Appointments can be made directly with me, or via our Ngāti Kahu Hauora admin team.
